A report by the Network of Concerned Historians points to a link between attempts to censor history education and a global decline in democracy, such as in India, Brazil and the Philippines. Ruben Zeeman, co-editor of the Network of Concerned Historians, wrote an article on this with Julia Boechat Machado, a doctoral student at CEU in Vienna, titled ‘Censoring History Education Goes Hand in Hand with Democratic Backsliding’.
