The KNHG is involved in the following history-related prizes and scholarships:

Elise Mathilde Essay Prize (Dutch website)
Triennial prize for the best history essay focusing on the preservation of Dutch cultural heritage. The next award ceremony will be in 2027.

Young KNHG BA Thesis Prize (Dutch website)
Biennial prize for the best Bachelor's thesis with a historical perspective, regardless of the applicant's field of study. The next award ceremony will be in 2026.

KNHG History Fund (Dutch website)
Annual grant aimed at supporting research that cannot count on financial support elsewhere due to the applicant or the nature of the end product. 

Low Countries History Award (Dutch website)
Triennial award for the best article from the previous three volumes of BMGN – Low Countries Historical Review (BMGN-LCHR). The next award ceremony will be in 2025.

Professor Van Winter Prize (Dutch website)
Biennial award for the best book in the field of local and regional history in the Netherlands published in the previous two calendar years. The next award ceremony will be in 2025.

Uteneng Prize (Dutch website)
Annual prize to promote excellent research in the field of applied historical sciences in the Netherlands.
