Drawing medievalists from over 60 countries, with more than 2,200 colleagues actively involved in the programme as well as public concerts, performances, excursions, bookfairs and more, the International Medieval Congress (IMC) is Europe’s largest forum for sharing ideas in medieval studies.
IMC 2023 will take place from Monday 03 July to Thursday 06 July 2023 and it is our strong intention, coronavirus restrictions permitting, that there will be both an in-person and virtual component. The special thematic focus for IMC 2023 will be ‘Networks & Entanglements’.
For the event we have created a virual platform in which you can create your own schedule of events, as well as find details of all aspects of the academic programme, the IMC Bookfair, the Second-Hand and Antiquarian Bookfair, the Medieval Craft Fair, and our exciting programme of events, excursions, performances and workshops.
This personal schedule is simply a planning tool, not a way to register for sessions. This means that adding a session to your personal schedule (accessible via the top right hand panel) does not guarantee you a seat in the room. We recommend arriving in good time, especially if you expect the session to be busy. Virtual attendance is limited at 300 people for any session, and it is highly unlikely that any session will receive this many virtual participants. See the navigation bar for instructions on how to add sessions to your personal schedule.
You can connect with other attendees via the People menu and connect with colleagues new and old both on the platform and via other methods, including social media or email. It is at your discretion whether you choose to add, or make public, your contact information and you can control this from your personal settings at the top left (displaying your initials / display picture).
To find a session, you can browse using the options on the main left-hand navigation. You can browse by session type, strand, index term, or search by person name or key word. You can also browse the full programme list and use your browser’s Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac) to find specific sessions by session number.
