What

Historian Ian Buruma (Gouden Ganzenveer 2019) will speak about Japanese and Dutch imperial justifications of occupying the Indonesian Archipelago. This lecture will be followed by a response of NIAS fellow Pierre Asselin (Dwight E. Stanford Chair in American Foreign Relations at San Diego State University) and Esther Captain (KITLV) from the NIAS Theme Group ‘Comparing the Wars of Decolonization’.
