Recently, the Bussemaker report on how to strengthen knowledge about the former Dutch East Indies was published. This report contains essential recommendations for improvement. However, it lacks the most important advice: Strengthen the infrastructure of history education in the Netherlands. In an open letter, published in NRC, the KNHG the VGN and EuroClio made an appeal to the ministers of Education, Culture and Science to do so.
