Network of Concerned Historians calls attention to death threats directed at Colombian historians

The Network of Concerned Historians (NCH), an organization which serves as a link between concerned historians and human rights organizations, has called attention to death threats directed at two Colombian historians. Afro-Colombian historian Sergio Antonio Mosquera announced that he was forced to shut down the only African diasporic center and museum in Colombia, the Fundación Muntú Bantú (Muntú Bantú Foundation, founded in 2009), located in Chocó Department’s capital Quibdó, after he – the museum’s founder – and María Fernanda Parra – the museum’s director – had received death threats from armed groups. The NCH has drawn up a petition of solidarity with the two historians.
